About Undersea Adventures....

We've made this part of Cornwall our home since 1989 so it goes without saying that we have achieved a level of knowledge of the Cornish Coastline others can only admire. From our base in Penzance we have access to both North and South coasts and can offer some fascinating dive sites to excite the novice and challenge the more experienced diver. We pride ourselves on our extensive training programmes and provide a professional, thorough and enlightening experience while ensuring that your safety and enjoyment are uppermost in our minds. History back to About us To site map

Originally begun in 1989 our PADI 5* centre has established itself as West Cornwall’s premier diver training centre. From a small diver training business we now occupy a prime position in Penzance, offering PADI courses for the beginner upwards and have access to a diverse array of dive sites for the more experienced diver.

April ‘89 business began with a RIB – Little Deeper – loads of enthusiasm - loads of dive gear – no where to keep it.

October ‘89 - moved to our first proper premises in St. Ives – wow, loads of space.

October ’90 - how did we manage to fill the space so quickly.

1991 - continued to build solid core of regular divers – needed more space.

1992 - an excellent year in St. Ives but now bursting at the seams – four instructors working flat out throughout the summer.

1993 - more beginners than ever before - looking for a new premises – need more space.

1995 - moved to superb new premises at Canon’s Town. We’d found our utopia, or so we thought, own pool, offering accommodation for students and beautiful grounds. But unfortunately were presented with a serious planning headache. Culminating after planning appeal and public enquiry with us having to look for new premises. In the same year we also opened a unit on Long Rock Industrial Estate for equipment sales and to house the compressor.

1996 - toward the end of the year we found new premises. Another, much larger unit on Long Rock. This year also saw the arrival of a new boat – Little Deeper’s ‘sister’ - Little Deeper II - enabling us to carry more divers and comfortably cope with difficult weather conditions.

1997 - Opening early that year having moved the whole operation into Unit 15a – where we are to this day.

1999 - We introduced Gul wetsuits to our product range, quickly followed by many other watersports products.

2001 - June saw the culmination of three years of work and planning (and frustration) when we opened 'Undersea Adventures Red Sea' in Hurghada, Egypt. In partnership with Mike's long term Egyptian friend, Hisham the door finally opened to our new centre based right on the beach at 'Holidays Resort'.

2002 - 9th. March was the launch date for our new, fully online website with a wide range of products to purchase directly from the site.

And still we go on, continuing to explore and find new dive sites, develop our product line, and attract an ever increasing range of watersports enthusiasts both here and in Egypt.

Our success is due to the dedication of our team to continually maintain a standard of service and recognised quality of training other diving establishments can only admire. Our advice is often sought by non-divers and divers alike for our ‘insider’ knowledge of the coastal region – everything from the best places to go snorkelling and boarding to providing neoprene to decorate a surgical bandage !!

We would like to thank all our customers both regular and new.

Comments from past clients:
As you can imagine since we began in 1989 we’ve collected quite a few ‘customer comments’. We could rabbit on about how good we are for a long time, but we thought it might be a better idea to let you have a look at what our divers and course participants have to say about us. Below are just a few comments from our visitors book, which you can see in all it's glory (and read the unprintable ones) when you visit.
