Even as a newly qualified Open Water diver there's always the opportunity to refine your technique and increase your skills.

Adventures in Diving / Advanced OW:
If you are already a qualified diver, with the PADI Open water or similar qualification then this is the next step. Rescue Diver:
If you're comfortable with your personal diving skills, this the next step, learn the skills of accident prevention as well as developing skills to help if things go wrong.

Divemaster
The PADI Divemaster is the intermediate step between purely recreational diving and becoming an instructor. The course is demanding but an essential one if you are interested in becoming a PADI instructor. At this level of scuba diving the qualification is not just another certificate but could become a way of life. Even if you are not interested in becoming a PADI Instructor, the PADI Divemaster qualification is definitely a ‘badge of honour’ and one that is highly respected throughout the diving world.

Boat Diver:

Boat diving is, for most people, by far the preferred way to dive. Easy access to the best sites, extra safety cover and ease of gear transportation being the main reasons. If you are thinking of organising your own boat diving this course enables you to get to know a little more about boat diving techniques, finding the sites, safety procedures, boat diving etiquette and familiarity with safety equipment. Plus of course, diving!
The course consists of: 2 Dives and 1 theory / practical sessions.
Prerequisites: To take part you must be qualified to at least PADI Junior Open Water or equivalent.

Deep Diver:

Exploring deeper water holds a fascination for many divers, this course investigates further the practical safety aspects of deeper dives, proper planning and use of redundant back up systems. Further consideration is also given to the theoretical aspects of planning deeper dives, tables use, physiological effects, air consumption, gas absorption etc..
The course consists of: 4 Guided dives between the depths of 18 and 40 metres and 2 theory sessions.
Prerequisites: To take part you must be qualified to at least PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent.

Drift Diver:

Easy and relaxing could be one way to describe most drift dives, simply get your buoyancy right and go with the flow! This course is designed to introduce you to diving in moving water, and the extra safety aspects that need to be considered, not least because direction is often controlled more by the current than your own navigational skills.
The course consists of: 2 Guided dives and 1 theory session.
Prerequisites: To take part you must be qualified to at least PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent. Normal entry qualification is Junior Open Water, however, due to local depth considerations our students need to be to Advanced level.

For many people diving in UK sea conditions demands the use of a dry suit for both comfort and convenience. In some diving situations, such as underwater photography, where long periods of stillness and concentration are the norm, the added comfort of diving ‘dry’ may be essential. This course is designed as a safe introduction to dry suit diving, addressing the extra safety precautions that need to be considered compared to wet suit diving. The idea being to provide the opportunity for supervised, controlled exercises in the techniques involved in avoiding buoyancy problems, particularly uncontrolled feet first ascents.
The course consists of: 2 guided dives inclusive of 1 confined water orientation where required and 1 theory session, normally conducted over 1 day.
For those who have never used a Dry suit and are inexperienced in UK sea conditions: 3 guided dives inclusive of 1 confined water orientation and 1 theory session. Conducted over 2 days this ensures every confidence and competence in dry suit usage.
Prerequisites: To take part you must be qualified to at least PADI Junior Open Water or equivalent. Min. age 12 years.

Enriched Air Nitrox Diver:

For more time underwater... How many times have you been enjoying an excellent dive, perhaps on your favourite wreck, or on a new site only to reach the end of your planned bottom time with still so much to see? Enriched Air diving could be the answer, with greatly extended ‘no-stop’ bottom times available, particularly in the 20 to 30 metre depth range, choosing the right mix could extend your usable time to double at some depths!
the course consists of... Video presentation, introduction to Enriched Air Diving.
Theory sessions, covering such subjects as: Advantages (and disadvantages) of diving with "enriched air", extended no-decompression times, equipment considerations, safety procedures, use of the PADI EAD tables, managing oxygen exposure, checking your mix, etc..
2 Dives in the Atlantic Ocean (not a pond or quarry) using the appropriate mix! The ocean dives give you the opportunity to experience enriched air diving.The emphasis of the course is heavily on enjoyment whilst at the same time covering all you need to know to safely use enriched air (Nitrox), maximising your bottom time.
The PADI Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox) course is conducted over two days, the first is theory and the practical aspects of verifying ‘mix’, dive planning etc. Day two consists of planning and conducting two dives using enriched air, these dives will usually be conducted on the more popular wreck or reef sites in the depth range 20 to 30 metres, subject to weather conditions.
Included in the course price... PADI Enriched Air Diver Manual. PADI EANx Dive tables (32% and 36%), and Oxygen Exposure table. Certification with PADI. 2 Dives from our boat. Use of Nitrox clean cylinders, regulator and O2 test equipment.
Schedules: Courses are normally conducted over a weekend though mid-week courses can usually be arranged, contact us to discuss your requirements.
Prerequisites: To take part in the course you need to be qualified to PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent and have completed 10 dives after certification. Qualification to PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent is preferred and offers more scope for using the advantages Enriched Air Nitrox provides. Minimum age 15.

Equipment Specialist:

Most divers would like to know more about their equipment, this basic course covers day to day maintenance of your kit, - parts that need cleaning, what to service yourself and what needs professional attention including: Regulators, buoyancy control devices, lights, knives, suits, instruments, masks, bags etc.. Plus hints and tips on maintaining your gear in the best possible condition.
The course consists of: 2 theory sessions.
Prerequisites: To take part you must be qualified to at least PADI Junior Open Water or equivalent.

Emergency First Response:
Primary Care, completed over 4-5 hours - Course fee £99
Secondary Care, approx. 2 hours - Course fee £39

This course provides the first aid training necessary prior to qualification as a Rescue Diver, including valuable training in modern First Aid techniques and CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation). The skills of patient care necessary to support the life of an ill or injured person are covered, emphasising hands-on practice. First Aid is useful in all walks of life - more accidents occur in the home than anywhere else.
The courses consists of: Approximately 8 to 10 hours of theory and practical sessions.
No prerequisites: Open to non divers, including friends, family etc..

Multilevel Diver:

An introduction to planning and conducting multilevel dives, going beyond the realms of simple table use and getting more time, safely, on dives with reducing depth profiles. Includes use of the ‘PADI Wheel’ and an introduction to dive computers and how to make the best use of them.

Naturalist:

Observation and interaction, this course is designed for those wishing to see and understand a lot more of the fascinating life which abounds on our local dive sites. The course involves seeking out some of the more elusive creatures and many more small life forms often missed, including brilliantly coloured anemones and corals as well as the opportunity for close quarters contact with larger fish, crabs etc..
The course consists of: 2 Guided dives and 1 theory session.

The undersea world at night is a whole new adventure, the life to be observed differs significantly from that which is visible during the daytime. This course is an introduction to the world of night diving, developing skills needed to make the most of this exciting form of diving. Including night navigation and marine life identification.

Peak Performance Buoyancy:

Good buoyancy control reduces the physical effort involved in diving, extends bottom time by reducing air consumption and helps to protect the marine environment.

Photographer:

Underwater photography is the fastest growing special interest area of diving, and can be enjoyed in almost every diving environment, from wreck sites to tropical coral reefs. Capture for yourself and non-diving friends a sample of your undersea adventure on film.
This course is a basic introduction to underwater photography and provides a good background to the use of an underwater camera system. It covers photographic principles, techniques and composition, camera preparation, handling and maintenance, use of strobes and film types. Plus of course planning underwater photo dives and the advanced buoyancy control necessary for good results without damage to the subject or surroundings.
The course consists of: 2 guided dives and 2 theory sessions.

Everyone loses something at some stage in the course of their diving, the techniques learned during this course may help you recover your loss. There may also be occasions when a search pattern may help you find a particular site etc.. This course develops your navigational and search techniques plus the theory and practice of lifting objects from the seabed (at recreational level).

Wreck Diver:

For many people wreck diving is the most fascinating type of undersea adventure, exploring old wrecks and learning of their history. Some wrecks are recorded as ‘unknown vessel’, for others their history is well documented. Many sites have been well dived, however some are relatively new found, with new sites being investigated every year, especially here in West Cornwall. Sample an introduction to this fascinating aspect of diving in our wreck diver specialty course, experiencing wrecks with a variety of features, marine life and history.
The course consists of: 4 guided dives and 1 theory session (special equipment will be provided as required).
